Bite-the-hummus Salad.

Been thinking what the first recipe of the year should look like! And more than that, what it should sound like!
All of us love that creamy, garlicky hummus as a dip to the pita chips, or as a nice spread between the sandwich. So how about a little 'bite' in that pasty love?
Just chanced upon an interesting twist for today's salad- hummus ingredients tossed in a salad, instead of blending them together into a paste. Obviously with some variations from the Food Owl kitchen! ;)
Its little bit spicy, little bit tangy, and all delicious, yet simple to put together with minimum ingredients.

Bite-the-Hummus Salad
(Serves 4)

You will need-

Chickpeas( Soaked overnight)- 1 cup
Potatoes (Boiled, peeled, diced)- 1/2 cup

Oregano- 1 tsp.
Sumac powder- 1 tsp.
Thyme- 1/2 tsp.
Garlic powder- 1/2 tsp.
Salt - to taste
Fresh curds- 2 tbsp.
Sesame seeds- 1tbsp.
Fresh parsley (chopped)- 1 tbsp.
Chilli flakes- 1 tsp.
Lemon juice- 1/2 tbsp.
Olive oil (extra virgin)- 1 tbsp.

Method-

Pressure cook the chickpeas with salt till tender.
Drain and keep the water aside, and let them cool.
Toast the sesame seeds on a griddle for a few seconds, and then pound lightly, careful not to powder them.
Mix all the ingredients gently, and garnish with a sprig of fresh parsley.

Enjoy the creamy taste of hummus, with the 'bite' of a salad intact!
