Wine-in or whine-out..?? FoodOwl Review for Cafe D'Wine, Bandra, Mumbai

Dont get carried away by the warmth of the interiors, because this place has little to offer for the prices that they unapologetically charge!
It was empty but for us for a Saturday brunch, and I attributed it to the just-opened reason, maybe they are just getting their act together I thought!
Rightly so, they are just about managing to get food on to the table as of now.
Ordered the Cheesy gnocchi which was cheesy yes, but not the soft gooey gnocchi i was expecting for that standard. Kept trying to look for the smoked fennel flavour it was to have, till almost the end, but cudn't find hints of it!
Next was garlic mushroom, squishy watery...and saucy...they failed to make a point with that.
The paneer steak with lemon butter sauce and sauteed veggies was decent with some garlic bread that one had to order with it separately. The sauce was full of lemony zing and a strong flavour of basil...which made up for the non-marinated steak. This was the only dish with a garnish by the way,  which surprised me as restauranteurs are supremely watchful and so creative about how the food looks!!!
Adding to the w'h'ine element, this one was priced at an obscene 500/- plus which I realised when the cheque came in( this dish was recommended by the server and wasn't on the menu!!)
The USP here seems to be the wines of which they have a decent number and variety. The servers knowledge again not pressing enough to sell them-Ordered come good cabarnet shiraz-safe bet there...
Go there for the wine...some sides,  and a quiet, comfortable(on of the velvetty seatings ) time, away from the bustling saturday brunch places.
And- DO NOT ask the server for food suggestions!!!
